Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel

Singapore-Malaysia land border has finally reopened from 1st April 2022.

I recently visited Johor Bahru back in March via VTL. This entry is almost back to pre-covid days though bus services 160, 170 and 170X are not available at the time of travel. The Shuttle service operated by Causeway Link is running for $2 one way, it wasn’t crowded and I was out by 30mins

There is only one Marriott property in Johor Bahru and it’s located at Permas Jaya approximately 10km away from JB Customs. If you are not in a rush and like to travel cheaply, bus 123 goes to Aeon Permas Jaya from JB Central Bus Terminal for RM3 (Cash Only) and it’s within walking distance from drop-off or not there is always Grab/Taxi to get you there

I opt out of breakfast as there are so many food options within walking distance.

Overall this hotel looks dated and old, I scored a low peak price of 280.90 MYR (normally it would cost double) so it’s really worth it and I wouldn’t be paying anything more, it would be much better with Holiday Inn or Hilton JB
