I was searching for flights and saw that a return ticket from SIN-Kota Kinabalu was only SGD$99 (Scoot Airline, carry-on). I have never been to Sabah before so I just booked it! It’s a short 3 days getaway and I will be staying in 2 different hotels, check back again to see what is my next pick! (hint: slightly luxurious for cheap)
Getting to Mercure Kota Kinabalu: For your convenience, Grabcar is available for booking at the Airport – Arrival Pillar 5, as you exit turn left and keep walking. It should cost about RM10-12

Overall it was a pleasant stay, it’s a walking distance to Suria Sabah Shopping Mall and Cafe/Bar about 10mins walks away (towards Signal Hill Trail). There was a gym and swimming pool facilities that I didn’t utilise it. A 4-star hotel for this price was hard to beat, perfect for the budget traveller who wants some extra comfort.
