Avani Atrium Bangkok: Don’t Bother

Cost: THB 6061.56, I paid with D$50 and lowered it to THB4214.31 (2N)

This might be my most disappointing stay thus far. That’s the issue with expectation huh?.

I am in Bangkok for 2 nights before flying off to Europe. I have Discovery Dollar worth USD$50 (won in GHA Promotion) expiring in a few weeks. What’s more! GHA was running a promotion where members can earn D$50 bonus by booking through the GHA App (min 2-night stays).

I picked Avani Atrium Bangkok as it’s along Makkasan Airport line, but it’s still about a 10-15 mins walk away from Phetchaburi MRT station.

Yeah, I splurge and book the Executive room Rainy Season Sale Offer

I arrive close to check-in time but there was a mixed up and my room was not ready for another 30mins or so. As a Titanium member with GHA, I wasn’t offered any room upgrade plus sadly the Executive Lounge was closed for about 2 years. (???)

Drop-off service to MRT-Phetchaburi station is available but was limited

Conclusion

I was aware that this property was slightly dated and to be fair the price was low for an executive room and I managed to get the rate even lower by utilising my Discovery Dollar but if I have done more research I wouldn’t bother booking the executive room considering lounge access was not available and would save the money for a base room instead

I really enjoyed the breakfast and apart from the hiccup during check-in, the service is great.
