I’ve made it to Amsterdam!

I’m aware that Amsterdam is not a cheap city to stay in and I did panic a little *laugh*. I did consider staying in a hostel to save some money and even a decent hostel bed will set me back about €50 a night and will be shared with 3-5 strangers, which is a little pricey for little to no privacy. Honestly, my hostel days are over and I am so glad I joined various hotel reward programs years ago and accumulated points to offset my stay.

Holiday Inn Express Sloterdijk Station will be the best pick for me. It’s minutes away from Sloterdijk Station and the bus station is down the street with direct service to Amsterdam Central. What’s more! I’m leaving for Germany after and the Flixbus bus stop is round the corner.

I landed past 7 am in the morning. Took my own sweet time and arrive at noon, my hope for an early check-in was impossible so I left my baggage and come back during the check-in hour. They acknowledge my Platinum Status and for the choice of welcome amenity, I always choose points and got credited right away.

Overall it’s decent, it’s expected in Holiday Inn Express. Bottles of water aren’t provided but it’s safe to drink from the tap. I have a room to myself and am totally satisfied with that.

One plus point with booking Express property is the complimentary breakfast, It’s different from around the world, I know it’s going to be continental style and I absolutely love European bread!
